Circulation

The collection of the State Law Library is non-circulating.


Computers

The Law Library provides public access computers for legal research purposes only.   


The Copyright Law of 1976 (United States Code, Title 17) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. These photocopies or reproductions are not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research."     


Food

Food is not allowed in the Library in order to maintain a clean, safe library and minimize the risk of damage to library books, equipment and property.     


Inmate Requests

The State Law Library supplements the library collections of correctional facilities in the state of West Virginia by providing inmates with case and statutory law, secondary legal materials, and periodical articles limited to the most current five years.

This service does not extend to inmates in the custody of the federal government, other state or foreign governments.     


Photocopying

All copies cost twenty cents per page and cash or check are accepted.  At present, the Law Library is unable to accept debit or credit cards.


Wireless Access Policy

The Law Library provides wireless internet (WiFi) access to anyone with a wireless computer or handheld device.
